Hello there! If you're wondering "why has this person even subscribed to me", it's because I came from tumblr. Specifically, a tumblr where I mostly lurked and followed 1,000+ blogs because I always liked having something new to read whenever I refreshed my dash, even if it was content from fandoms I'm not in. I'm trying to somewhat replicate the same feeling here.
So, hi! I'm Zelle, she/her, INFJ, college student in my 20s (not comfortable getting any more specific than that)
Anyway, here I mostly ramble about musicals and occasionally novels to whoever will listen. My main passion is Phantom of the Opera (primarily the ALW musical, but I also enjoy Leroux and the Y&K miniseries, and my shipping tendencies lean heavily in favor of E/C- in contexts where it's not abusive, of course), but you might also see some other stuff here and there related to Wicked or Into the Woods or whatever catches my fancy.
Currently, I'm posting humourous and occasionally analytical commentary as I read through the de Mattos translation of The Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux, which is hopefully enjoyable even if you've never read the book! I'm planning on covering Pride and Prejudice next in a similar style, so look forward to that (still, I've got an awfully long way to go...)
Specific fandom things that occupy my brain right now and that I'd love to chat about:
- Just.. the entire character of Data from Star Trek: The Next Generation. I'm still not over The Offspring or The Measure of a Man.
- The tiny tugboat of a ship that is Picard/Guinan (and really the whole Time's Arrow two-parter as a whole)
- The Mystery of Edwin Drood (the comedic choose-your-own-ending musical based on Dickens' last unfinished mystery novel)
- Pretty much any iteration of the character of Cinderella, but my favorites are the R&H musical Cinderella, the 2015 Disney Cinderella, and Into the Woods Cinderella.
My personal and otherwise non-musical related stuff is access list only- feel free to ask me for access if you want to know what goes on inside my brain other than the Phantom of the Opera soundtrack on repeat!
